The parts book lists an 11 and 12 inch engine clutch for the 450B crawler but doesn't specify why. Does anyone know if it was a replacement upgrade or the turbo engine uses a larger clutch? I believe in the 450B the HLR was the only transmission offered. The original 450, offered a constant mesh as standard and had a differant clutch disc for the optional HLR transmission. The 12 inch is sold in a kit with pressure plate and the 11" disc alone is still a good part# too. Anybody know the deal and any aftermarket sources?

your engine flywheel is already drilled for the 12 inch clutch. It is a upgrade, deere numbers supercede to the bigger clutch. more surface area=more holding power. Don't know if the company has a web site or not but the name is "Paint Valley Eqpt". Lots of older tractor/dozer parts,(brake bands, steer clutch, engine clutch, final drive trans discsetc...)
