HELP !!!I need to know the name and phone number of a good mechanic. I am having problems with my jd450 crawler. It will run for an hour and then it stops moving. It acts like the clutch is not engaged and no pressure on the gauge at the accumulator. If you let it cool down for an hour it will move again

Pull the rubber plug out of clutch housing nearest clutch pedal.. If thereis a lot of fluffy black powder on everything , chances are the clutch is burnt toast. Should not smell real hot either..

William,
It's been a long time since I worked on a crawler. If I recall correctly, this has a torque converter and directional on it. You may want to replace the filters and check the fluids, and check that the fins on the cooler are not clogged up. It's possible that this could be causing it not to operate properly. Just an idea to think about.

Jim

Where are you located? Also need to know what series 450 you have.
