I couldn't make the deal with the owner of that little JD420 crawler loader I was after, and what I'm finding now is a lot of Oliver/Cletracs in my price range.

I understand that Zimmerman has about everything for these machines, but is there any particular models that I should avoid, due to parts being too expensive or simply unavailable?

About the only thing I"d warn you of on a Cletrac would be where the pump is for the hydraulics/if your looking at dozers. Rear mounted pump stops when you push in the clutch. Pain in the @#$!% when digging stumps for example.. You want push & LIFT of the blade to pop stump. Slip clutch to keep pushing & pump stops. Front pump will stay working in that situation.... front pump has power all the time/MUCH better. Older Cletracs had rear pump. Older "B" modles were 3 speeds. I"d aviod those too. Newer were 4 speeds.. That extra low gear gives much more power/slower ground speed-important in dozing....
