Looking for the pto handle/lever and parts inside the clutch housing for JD 450B with HLR tranny. Maybe the powershaft too. Don't know until teardown. Anyone know possible sources? Has anyone had a pto failure and put it back together without pto? What clutch housing parts would you remove to avoid collision problems with pressure plate? Tried looking through rubber plug on housing but can't see if parts below handle are intact. Thanks.

LD: The pto drive gear and fork (if it has the fork) are not loacted in the clutch housing itself. They are located behind the reverser front cover. So you won"t be able to see anything through the rubber plug anyway. Once engine and clutch housing are removed you"ll have to remove front cover of reverser to access pto drive gear. Also, the pto shaft should come out the rear of the machine just by removing the retainer at the rear.

LD,

There is an outfit in Oregon, near Portland I think - that deals in winches for Deere. I've never delt with them, nor have I ever contacted them. I'll look around for a little more info. Perhaps someone else may know of this place.

Thanks, someone told me the winch equipped machines don't have the floor pto lever. Meaning the pto shaft always turns but doesn't power the winch until you move the winch control cable. Winch doesn't work on this machine and pto shaft doesn't turn. Appreciate whatever info you can findout.
