I have about 1.5 - 2 acres to pine trees that I want cleared out. 90% are 2 inch and under daimeter. The rest are 2 - 3 inch diameter. What is a reasonable price to hire someone to clear this with a dozer? I live in south La. I was thinking of buying a blade for my 4020 JD tractor but that would be atleast $1000.

What are you going to do with the junk after you dig it out? When I do what you"re about to, I bush hog everything (your 4020 like mine has enough power to bush hog rocks). I let the pine stumps rot for a year, then pop them out with a subsoiler, pile them up for another year to dry then burn "em.

Hi Jody, Over here in S.E. Texas the going rate for a small dozer to do that kind of work is $40-50 per hour with a four hour minimum. Now a good operator can do an awful lot in a 8-10 hour day, so for $400-$500 you could get your land shaped up pretty good I think.
