I have a 3414 backhoe that has a bad transmisssion with 4 cylinder gas.I have a chance to get the rear half of a 2500 with 6 cylinder.I am wondering if the back half of the 2500 would work with the front half of the 3414?Thanks

The 3414 is a Red B414 painted yellow. They were English made & imported mainly to Canada. In some ways they had some ahead of their time engineering.... In some ways....oh dear.... Like onthe gas jobs- the carberators were from boat engines/always a problem...

f100 don"t know about the boat motors but those zenith"s are a piece of s#*t,i have a 3414 and the carb just would not work so asked around and was told fat chance on finding something to replace it,well got looking at the base and thought hmm that looks about the size of my old jeep cj2a carb, went in the shed and grabed a carb and fit perfect and this thing has never run so good,i did have to modify the hood alittle but small potatoes for the way she runs now.otherwise this thing has hydraulics from hell it will dig thru anything.and it has the reach of some of those extend-a hoes

I was having carb trouble & a local dealer had a source for modified carbs. Talking to the guy selling the carbs I got the boat carb story... Makes sense/tractor has English Lucas Ignition ect. Distributor cap hard to come by too.... In some ways the tractors were way ahead of their time. I liked the backhoe controls were to the side/early egonomics???

That jeep carb idea is a GREAT ONE!!!!!
