I recently purchased an older (early 60's)International/Drott 6k3 track loader with a backhoe. It runs great, but needs some minor work. I would like to replace the tracks ect. However my mother's house burned down with the manuals in it. Does anybody know where I can find the model & serial numbers on the machine? Maybe then I could locate another manual.

Good Morning Dennis, --- 9 / Sept. / 2004 ---

The Serial Number tag is on or below the insturment panel (could be down by the foot padles). After finding it, check the country that it was made (U.S., or Canada, England, or Germany
(IH made crawlers in all of these countrys)).

When giving the SERIAL NUMBERs, always give the PREFIX LETTERs and the numbers and SURFIX LETTERS (if any). This saves everybody a lot of time.

If the S# tag is missing, then go to engine SERIAL NUMBER, on the block is a raised area (about 1/4 inch) and is 3/4 inch wide by 2 to 3 inches long. The paint and grease would have to be removed from this machined smooth area to see the machined stamped S# . If it's T-6 "TBK" or a TD-6 "TDBK" (and then the NUMBERs), or whatever the PREFIX LETTERs are. When this done, this saves everyone a lot of time.

Regards, Milton
