I have a JD 350C crawler bulldozer and have bought a JD 9550 backhoe which I would like to mount on it. I have purchased and fabricated the mounting attachments, but I don"t know how to get the hydraulics to the hoe. Can somebody tell me how to do this or direct me to a source. I understand that the hoe will be slow given that the bulldozer"s hydraulic pump"s output is only 15 gal/min versus 23 gal/min on the loader. I also understand that given the weight of the hoe, the front end of the dozer will probably need about 500# ballast. Do these limitations make this combination a bad idea? Any advice would be appreciated, but I think I need to know mostly how to modify the hydraulics to get to the hoe.
Thanks.

You will need a power beyond fitting available from deere to power backhoe. This will allow you to complete the open center loop without causing either a no pressure situation or a hydraulic lock-up

Seen acouple ways. If I remember right Deere plumbed them inline. Not sure if it was the supply or return of dozer valve-check w/Deere-it was factory/dealer setup.2 hoses w/couplers.You got close to hoe, shut off machine, anytime it ran the hose is 'live',unhooked hose's from each other, hooked to attacment, restarted machine. If you forget to hook hoses back together machine wouldn't start(hydraulic lock). This way hoe and blade work all the time, easier to move. The other way is a selector/divider. But when you want to move you have to keep changing selector. You want to use blade for stability, along w/hoe stabs. It was common to switch pumps,if there was one that would fit.you'll have to research a little maybe, but I'm thinking the loader version will go on the dozer &its bigger (gpm).Don't worry about counterweight, thats what stabs are for.MrBill is right, its hard on drives/tracks.Don't turn hard or doze w/hoe.You'll find it very hard to control,do decent work anyway.Do all the digging, get rid of hoe,use dozer.BTDT,its a PITA.Easier to remove hoe, after a couple times it'll get quick & easy.

I can't help you with the hydraulics but I have a 350b loader with a 9300 hoe. I learned early on to only have the hoe mounted while I need it. That is a LOT of weight to be lugging around hanging off the back end. I knocked a track off the sprocket and I think if I had not had the hoe mounted on it at the time the track would not have come off. There was a small stump that force the track off the sprocket and if the hoe was not on, the dozer would have just crawled up over it, but all that weight pushed it sideways and off the sprocket. Since then, I removed the hoe, and the dozer now is "fun" to drive.

Just a word of warning, that much weight is hard on the dozer to have it on all the time.
