d-7 pony motor

I have a D-7,with the 3t serial number,the pony kicked the bucket and i"m not real enthused about taking it of.Has anyone figured out how to make electic start for it?It"s got a ring gear so there must be a way

Yes, there is a way or a conversion kit to switch from pony to electic.

Hey Mark, you might try calling and talking to Bill Helms at Iron Peddlers. We just converted a D311 out of an old 212 grader for a guy. The flywheel housing on it had a cast place for a starter but it hadn't been machined for the starter. Bill was able to do the proper machining for us as well as getting the correct starter for us to use. Here is a link to their web site. Good luck.
