I purchased a 1962 TD340 Dozer with a Drott 4 in 1 bucket and a 220 massey backhoe on it last night. I am in need of a couple of injectors for it. It has 2600 hours on it but has sat a lot. Also, What is the approximate value of this machine?? It is in excellent shape otherwise.

Hard to say what it's worth without seeing it. Does it run and move and turn and do all the hydraulics work? Is anything leaking? And the real biggee, what condition is the undercarriage in? The track chains (rails+pins+bushings), grousers, rollers, idlers and sprockets can run many thousands of $$ to replace...and that's if you (easily) can find them for a 40+ year old machine like that.

Best bet is to have an experienced mech look at it. Rough ballpark value (in my opinion) would be $3000-$6000 if the following criteria are met:

1. Engine runs decently
2. UC at least 50% overall
3. No bad leaks (especially from final drives and tranny) 4. Final drives are tight (good bearings, no noises/grinding, clean topped off oil in them)
5. Machine moves (forward and backward) and turns (both ways) and pushes hard with no slipping or seized clutches, and without noises or other problems from the transmission.
6. Hydraulics are strong and not excessively leaking
7. Bucket is not all bent up and linkage pins/hinges are not ovalized and worn out

The undercarraige is more like 80%. I have run heavy equipment for 15 years and can see it was taken care of. It has a miss to it when it idles but it is a drippy injector i think.

Matt, Since you're an IH man now, you might want to check out the redpower site. It's a great source of IH info and parts:

And here's an interesting T-340 site:

And here's a good source of manuals:

Good luck with that thing, and lets see some pics!
