Have a 1977 John Deere 410 backhoe diesel. Have heard about cavitation problems--I think that is the word--anyway was wondering if a special antifreeze or additive needs to be used.
Thanks for any help.

Here's a link to an excellent site on cavitation erosion:>Link
You>Link can also use a liquid additive in the coolant, but I much prefer the filter/conditioner unit.

Most auto parts stores will sell you a coolant conditioner that you mix with antifreeze then pour in.. Don't just dump this stuff in without premixing conditioner and antifreeze solution. It wont mix correctly.. The baldwin website is also a good idea.. Do one or the other not both..Too much conditioner isn't good ether. The function of coolant conditioner is to change the PH of the coolant.. Hard water and antifreeze is the recipe to liner erosion..
