Campellone, Plain 1150 with A401D sets at 31 deg BTDC , later ones with 401BD set at different number.

Peter,

The pump drive gear has a mark and the housing behind the gear also has a mark, those must be lined up at the same time that the crank pulley is on the timing dimension. And you must also be on compression stroke not on the exhaust stroke . If you don't win send me a phone # .

George, It worked beautifully. The machine is finally up and running. Sounds Great except for the psst, psst, sound of number 5 head gasket leaking. You wouldn't happen to Know the torque spec for the head bolts? I really appreciate the info on the timing mark. None of the local Case dealers wanted to bother with me because the machine is old and wanted Big $ to fix it themselves, so they opted not to give me the info. Thanks again. Wouldn't have been able to do it without you.

got a 1150B shop manual. "It says to crank the engine CW to 35 degree mark, then crank engine cw to specified fuel pump timing. Refer to engine data decal on engine valve cover for fuel pump timing." I actually had one of these machines and I replaced the fuel injection pump once a few years ago. I know that this isn't a lot of help, but I just don't remember it being that hard. I remember the gear on the front of the pump with a clear mark as to where it matched up with the internal engine gear, and there is a bolt on top of the gear cover that you can remove and see the timing marks that align the gear with the pump housing by loosening the pump mounting bolts and twisting the whole pump to align the marks. If i can look anything else up for you just ask

Thanks alot Steve. I just didn't have a clue as to what the degree was. You are right in that the pump has timing marks. If it doesn't work I'll write you back. Thanks again,
Peter
