Hi all
Just purchased a McCormick TD35 crawler with stuck tracks. Whats the best method of freeing up the tracks. Have a JD 8420 - 235hp tractor, thought of using a push-pull bar to "persuade" the beast into moving.
Cheers Brad

Get a 2 gallon hand pump sprayer and use it to soak the pins and bushing with a mixture of used oil and diesel fuel or straight diesel fuel. WD-40 is the biggest joke ever. Case IH makes some great penetrating oil. The best is a product called Kroil, Its not cheap but it will do the best job. Just depends on how much of a hurry your in to move it. Lubriplate makes a good penetrating oil to. Hope this helps. Good luck

I 've had luck with this: if you can do it with out creating an enviromental hazard, spray the tracks all over very well with diesel fuel, let soak a day, if you can get a jack or jacks into the carriage and lift it up or move it in any way do so.
Also try to get under the bottom of the track as this is where most of the problem will be.
The move you can get it moving first the better luck you will have pushing or pulling withut breaking something. Does it run?

Hi, Brad. If it was my machine, I think I'd be trying at least some WD40 or similar sprayed into the pins and bushes and seeing if I could get some movement before I used the pulling trick. I don't imagine they are still giving away final drives and/or other R-send parts for TD35's on the back of 'Weeties' packets these days.

A voice in the background here suggested K-Y Gel.

Just my 0.2 cents worth.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
