What is the difference in these two machines? Did they stop producing 2010 and replace it with the 350 series? About what year was that???

A 2010 is available locally. Could you suggest a ballpark price. It "looks" good and care for.

Both the 1010 and 2010 were offered in either gas or diesel.
The 350 replaced the 1010, the 450 replaced the 2010, but the 450 is physically bigger than a 2010 in many respects.
Parts availability can be tough for 2010.

I had a 2010 loader for a few years and it was a good machine but not with out it's problems. The thing I liked about it was that it was light and had good break out force for a small machine. Value shoould be in the $5000-6000 range. I have seen them for less than $5k in running shape.

If I were in the market for a small loader I would spend the extra money and purchase the 350. It should be easier to get parts for because they made the for many years. The 2010 was made from 61-65. The 350 from 65 to the late eightied I believe. The 350 would be easier to sell in the future. The 350 is nicer to operate and easier to get in and out of.

If you're dead set on the 2010 I could answer other question if you have them.

I agree about parts being easier to get for the 350 series, but I wouldn't recommend a 350 crawler loader to anyone. Both the 1010 crawler-loaders and later 350 crawler-loaders were severely underpowered. I have NO idea what Deere was thinking. I was a Deere mechanic for over 30 years and heard nothing but complaints by anybody who owned or used one. Too much weight and hydraulic load, too little power. 450 was a whole different story - a real nice running crawler-loader - even the first 450 with the smaller and naturally aspirated engine.

And I would agree with everything you have stated. I would not try to make a living with a 350 but I have known a number small contractors that had a 450 as their only crawler. I ran one for a company I onced worked for and it was a good machine. Given the choice of all three machines, the 450 is the only way to go.

Now all things considered, If the original poster was just loooking for a small machine to do odd jobs around the farm and time was not an issue, the 350 would work.

The 1010 is the gas version and the 2010 is the diesel version, the where produced until 1964/1965 and they where replaced by the 350. I have a 1010c and I love it. Great little loader and the backhoe attachment is very handy. The 350 is more powerful.

The JD experts will fill you in.Only thing I know is that the engines are a PAIN to fix..liner plate is expensive.Has the 2010 had good coolant in it?Also produced a 1010.I think there may have been both gas & diesel versions.
