Looked at a 420C today, was in really great shape. Color is yellow, Am I to assume that it is industrial version. Could not see any thing wrong with it. What would be a fair price to offer for it. Thanks, Keith

Thanks everyone for the informative responses. And knowledge about wear and what to look for. Did not get the info today. I will have to go look at it myself in couple of days. Again thanks.

good lil crawler for light work,,I loved mine till teh final drive went. Was over 1000 for a used casing, so I sold it,, I sold mine for 900, so I would say 2500-3000 is fair if it runs great and has good tracks and a blade,, ask Lavoy he can pinpoint a price pretty well,,,Jim

You are asking questions I do not have the answers for. don't know to much about the JD 420, did not know there was a difference 4 or 5 speed. and the number of rollers. The machine is about 70 miles from me. Just happened to run across it today while out looking for old tractors. Have a friend going back up there tomorrow, will have him look. Will the serial # help? Ser# 115497
Thanks, Keith

Good serial number. The magic number is 100,001. They made a lot of improvements at that point. Half decent condition would be worth $3,500. Condition of the tracks is the controlling factor. Remember these were made to self destruct. All metal to metal running gear and the do wear.
