I would just Change it run it for a while, then change it again with a new filter (word to the wise, when you go to change the filter, park it on some blocks so that you can crawl underneath it as it is a pain to get the oring back in)Don't forget to clean the screen on the otherside(5 bolt plate bottom of valvebody)mfFilter # is 973 118 m1. Massey says to bring machine to a complete stop when changing directions, book also says not to hold clutch all the way down because trans brake is engaged;rather push clutch in completely and release slightly before shifting. I shift mine this way ALWAY as these are good machineas long as the trannies are good but there are'nt many new parts available for the Tranny Nothing should move when shifting somethingis lose somwhere.

You're right about the clutch and engaging the transmission brake. I do stop the machine before shifting but I shift the reverser into neutral and then use the brake if the machine starts to creep. I'm still learning a great deal but will whole-heartedly agree that it seems to be a great machine. At least its proven to be a fine 'first-timers' machine. Mine has a ripper that has been real handy. I needed a new front idler since the previous owner had trashed the hub. Denver East Equipment came through w/ one from BERCO. Good luck.

I wasn't Trying to tell you (or anybody)how to run there machine, just trying to Stress how carefull I am with mine. I run a d3c and a d6r everyday for a pipe crew and with powershift you tend to be a little rougher than you want to be with your own machine.
These are great little machines for around the house. You have a bucket or a blade? I have a bucket but would like to find one with a blade. Does that denver place sell just undercarrage parts Steve

I understand - that's the beauty of this site everyone is trying to help. I believe you're caution is well founded and every piece of equipment or tool should be treated with care and it will serve and not let you down when you need it most.
Mine has a 4-in-1 and will be used fairly lightly around the farm. As far as Denver East I was just searching for UC parts but I believe Shane can help track down most anything. Minnpart was helpful as well. For filters and such my local MF dealer has had those - they sold quite a few of these machines when new. Take care.

Undertand - you need those parts.
I may be way, way off base here but I don't use the foot clutch on the transmission - the reverser can be moved forward-neutral-reverse while moving. At least that's what I remember from the owner's manual and that's how I've run mine. There's a precaution about using the clutch pedal but I don't recall it now - I can check this evening. Maybe I don't understand what you're saying.

John,
Looks from the number that your in Indiana. I have a 200B w/ a Drott 4-in-1. All of the hydraulic tubing for the front cylinder is trashed. I've cobbled together enough w/ some flex to make things work. Would you have those runs of metal tubing on your parts loader?
