Does anybody know how to get the bucket up on a 955-L loader so I can replace the rubber isolation disks? Can I pick it up with a front end loader on a Ford 3000 tractor?

I've lifted up the bucket on a 977 using a 60hp
tractor with loader. it wasn't that difficult.
I placed some small metal channel cut to length
on the lift cylinder after I got it up to keep it from coming down again. Doesn't hurt to tie the channel in place.

If I were you I would drop the belly pan and go in from the bottom. just get a floor jack and a piece of plywood .Take the bolts out lower the jack and pull jack and pan out. Also it is safer and easyer to do it this way. when installing the drive discs put all of them on with out tightening any of the bolts.Sometimes thy are tough to line up the bolt holes. If the engine has ever been removed there ara shims that go under the motor mounts. If they were not put back then the drive plates will be out of alignment this will cause premature failure of the drive discs. Also the drive discs are avilable aftermarket for less than 1/2 the cost of Cat parts. Bob, I would seriously suggest you find someone to install these parts for you. I`m sure you are looking at what they will charge. I however am looking at the posts you are putting up about your machine and don`t want to see anyone get hurt- namely yourself. If the dealer cot is out of hand, and with Cat, it probably will be, find a good reputable field service person that will gladly get you out of your little jam. Have them look over the rest of your machine and possibly save you some $$$$$ and headaches in the long run.
