450 top roller

hey i was wondering the best way to get the top roller off a jd 450 dozer and also i hear a pop noise sometimes when i am backing up what do i need to fix thanks

You need to remove the entire top roller with the bracket from track frame. There are 4 bolts to contend with. Sometimes they break , sometimes they don't.If they do break you will need to drill the center of bolt out., then burn out remainder of bolt. The shaft will need to be pressed out. Make sure that you measure from the end of shaft to the flat surface of bracket. If you don't it will either be too loose or too tight.

put a bottle jack between the track frame and bottom of track near the roller , and jack up the track away from roller.

hey thanks mike ok after that does the shaft coming out the end of the roller knock out or press i noticed there was three bolts on the end of roller thanks for the help
