My Dad, Joe Hickman, bought a new MC in the fall of 1951 in Loup City, Nebraska. He sold it to a body shop in Loup City about 30 years ago. Shortly afterwards, the owner then sold the MC to a collector. I called for the man who bought it and he had died about 8 years ago. His widow could not remember who had bought it. So I am trying to track down this tracked tractor (pun intended!). We do NOT know the serial #. Dad had a habit of writing in the owner"s manual, and I know this tractor"s serial # WAS written in the book, as well as other notes, and perhaps his name. I will be able to recognize his writing. So IF you have an MC manual that has been written in, let me know, perhaps we can determine something that way. Dad"s tractor had a blade (inside track type). He had welded 10" extensions on each end of the blade. It also had a pulley attachment on the back. I found one locally, rusting away in the trees, but don"t think it is Dad"s. However, I thought I might buy it if the price is right. Engine condition not known; he has owned it for about 10 years and has not run during that time. Undercarriage and track look VERY good, carburetor, distributor, and starter missing. One original fender, corner cut off. Grill rough. Blade definately not Dad"s, no pulley attachment. He wants $3000 for it!!!!! I offered $1000. IF you think you may have "our" tractor, please contact me. There are some other details that will help us determine authenticity. Thanks, Gary Hickman St. Libory, NE
