Sorry about my ignorance, but I need to move a dead TD14A about a quater of a mile. Only tractor available is a JD 720 (will have to tow the tractor 60 miles). Any chance that it would do the job, need to cross a rocky dry creek bed. Thanks to those that replied on dating the TD 14A.

If you are on the level and don't have to cross steep ravines, the 720 will do fine. They pull easier than you think. (As long as the pins and bushing aren't froze)

I used a JD 4020 to move one around and even pull started the TD14A on diesel with it. You will have to maybe get a sidepull to get it positioned in the direction you want to go and then reposition again for straight pull. Pulled it in 3rd gear (Synchro) with the 4020.

Just remember that when you are pulling the TD-14 and going down hill, it will freewheel on its own. It's always smart to have someone to operate the towed crawler's brakes even if its not running. Don't let it run over your 720!

Thanks for the replies, will try to free the engine first(apparently was running two years ago), tow as a last resort. D King
