Recently acquired rough 1010 diesel dozer. Kind of runs and kind of moves about but needs much help. Seems to have 4 forward + 1 reverse + reverser. I intend to get a manual but first need to know what exactly I have.
"Patent plate" on engine is too far gone to read. What other identification might be on this thing to help me pin down model and year?
Also- besides JD, who has useful manuals? Anything available to download?
Thanks in advance-

Hello Pete. I have an original operators manual for a John Deere "1010" crawler Loader for sale. Let me know if you are interested. Bailey.

I got the service manual for my straight JD350 from Ed Tucker (jrcedmon@seidata.com), very reasonable.

Can you give me more info on source of JD1010 manual.
The link/E-Mail address you gave me doesn't work for me.

1010 crawler basically comes in two versions, early and late serial number. Early ones have the transmission gear shift in the dash board, and late ones have the gear shift down below, between your legs. Early crawlers, with the dashboard gear shift have a number of differences that are not so obvious, including different fuel injection parts, different engine bearings, etc.
