I have a JD 555 loader and the tracks look like they are a little slack. What are the steps for taking up the slack?

there is a zerk (under a cover)
inside the track
you can easly see it from the ground standing on the side of the unit

add grease with your grease gun.
not too much though doesnt take much

I have a 555g (1994)

I assume you are using the special JD grease gun with special fitting correct?

Simply pump in some grease right? I tried doing that and the fitting would not take the grease. I have bought a grease joint rejuvenator and plan on trying that on the zerk. Just have not got to it yet. I wondered if I needed to jiggle the track, release pressure, or something to make the grease go in easier. This is a 555B. 1989 I think. Thanks.

This zerk has no more resistance than any other on the machine so if its not taking grease
then its clogged.

I have a 350B. I adjust mine by shooting in some grease, 3-5 squirts, to take up the slack. Then climb up on the track and jump up and down a couple times. Then repeat again for 3-5 squirts. You don't want to stretch the track that is on the ground while you are taking up the slack you can see on top.
Check your specs, but I leave about a 1 and half inch droop after adjustment.
