Anybody know how to change a rubber track on a Kubota KX-41b Mini Excavator. Igot the old one off by unbolting the drive gear and taking gear and track off together. How do you stretch the new track to get the track and gear back on.

Thanks for any help.

I don't know if the 41b is the same as my 412s. But if it is this is how to do it.
On the outside of the tracks there is a small panel with one bolt retaining it, remove this and behind you will see a large bolt head with a grease nipple on it, remove this bolt and then you will be able to slide the large track wheel in and slacken the track. Then put the new track on, replace the bolt with the grease nipple on and pump in some new grease. This will tension the track.
I hope that this helps.

Jhill on the other end of the machine you will find a large wheel. This is called an Idler. Connected to the Idler is a track adjuster. This is adjusted out by applying a grease gun on the fitting. The fitting is located inside the track frame. An access cover is on the outside of the track frame located between the Idler and the front bottom roller. To slacken the adjuster you remove the fitting on the cylinder and compress the Idler back into the track frame thus shorting the extended cylinder. Hopes this helps! goodluck
