I have an opportunity to buy above Dozer for about $3000. It appears to have 75% plus undercarriage with the Buda Diesel seeming strong.
Needs Batteries and some electrical work with Starter Switch and miscellaneous other Stuff to run. Sheet metal battery cases/seat are shot.
Intended use is to clear property lines and cut trails through wooded and very rocky areas on 32 acre property. Significantly bigger machine than I had thought about with eleven foot dozer blade. Would appreciate any comments reliability & ruggedness of unit. Also is this 24 volt electrical system positive ground by chance??
Any comments will be very welcome.

i bought one a year ago for 4500.00. the engine is a 844 budda. it had been rebuilt and injectors replaced/rebuilt. it didnt run right when i bought it. after several hours of troubleshooting i found out that the coupling disc on the injector pump was wore out and had it out of time. it has fairly new rails and pads. sprockets are good. i cleared several acres of ground over the summer and have been very pleased with it. plan on digging a sizeable lake after i get the farm cleared the way i want it. if this dozer that your thinking of buying is as good as you say, i would definitly buy it. good luck. one more thing; is it a cable lift or hydraulic?

It's hydraulic. Are these positive ground or negative ground re batteries? Any recommendations re sources for parts and service manuals?

Appreciate your information and thanks for sharing your experience -- Is yours cable or hydraulic?

I'm going to have to move about 150 miles and trying to get handle on that cost

mine is cable lift. kinda wish it were hydrauilc.it sounds like you will get a heck of a buy if you get that one. hydraulics would make it worth more. im pretty sure mine is negative ground. mine had to be hauled about 90 miles. cost me 475.00. good luck...

I don't know anything about those particular machines but with good undercarriage and a decent motor I don't see how you could go wrong. Parts are not easy to get and expensive, but you can do $3000 worth of work in a few days, and then you are ahead of the game!!
