I have a 50's model 3J and the motor will not turn over. I have tryed pull starting it. Got it rolling pretty fast but when the clutch is poped it does not even budge the motor. Any advice on where to start. I am in Yucca Valley, Ca if you wish to come by...

Probably got water in the cylinders and is rusted stuck. Put Marvel Mistery Oil in the cylinders and be patient.

John, take the plate off of the side of the block and see if the rods are free on the crank and the crank free in the mains. The rods shound slide back and forth a bit and the crank move a few.001" to, maybe .025" This will tell you if the bearings are seized or the pistons seized in the liners.
Later Bob

today we got around to taking off the head. by tapping on the top of the pistons wiggling the journals tapping the pistons some more prying on the crank and tapping on the pistons some more she finally broke free. free at last. the head gasket looks so good i dont think that i am going to replace it.
