Adding rollers to support the track

Now that I'm an owner of a CASE 310 crawler/loader, I've been looking at pictures of them and their predecessor the TerraTracs (before the merger). I've noticed that some of these TerraTracs have 4 rollers instead of the 3 like what is on my CASE 310, but have the same length of track (30 links per side).

Is there any particular advantage in adding an extra roller on each side to give more ground contact or improved track guidance? When I begin rebuilding this machine, I'll have it stripped down and could drill and tap extra mounting holes in the rails when it's torn apart to add an extra roller per side.

Any advice is appreciated.

The holes should already be there. Case used to offer these as part of the option for backhoe installation.
