having trouble starting have diesel to fuel pump and is returning to the tank but cant seem to get any fuel to injector lines winds over ok any advice wood be great

try bleeding the lines,might have air.did you run out of fuel?

It definetly sounds lkike you are air bound. You can try cracking the fuel lines to get the air out. But some times that does not work and you have to bleed the individual pumps if your D4 is old enough. On the injection pump where the injection lines come out there is an stange shaped projection it is flat on two sides and rounded on the ends. these are the bleeds for the individual pumps crack these open until fuel comes while turning it over then close and it should fire. There are check valves in these pumps and sometimes they woont bleed through the lines. Hope this helps and is not too confusing
