Not sure what you are really wanting to adjust. The breaks are adjusted on the rear of the machine, under the 2 raised covers facing out on top of the rear end, one on left and other on right, 2 17mm head bolts hold the covers on. the clutches are hydrolicly controlled, but the linkages can be adjusted to bring the spool in more. there are several places to do it, all of which require you to remove either the floor plates, seat, or both. You might want to try the breaks first, that usually does the trick.

Thanks, it seems like I have one side that is not wanting to release, I have to keep pulling back hard on the brake to get it to turn. It releases fine pushing a full load. Any suggestions. Is a steering clutch & brake replacement very expensive and hard to do, I have done one on a d-4 allis before.

First try adjusting the break on that side, you will likely find that the adjuster will be froze up, not uncommon, the use of pent. oil or maybe even heat may be required. The first time I broke mine loose on my d-20 was a B#$h. If this doesn't fix it, then it is linkage adjustment time, the clutch to break linkage is under the seat ( sorry ) but once there is not hard to figure out, pull the handle back and fourth a few times and you will see how it works, simple design. You can have the clutch and break assembly out, first time, in about 1.5hrs ( counting time for cussing and finding tools, and cussing because you can't find the tools ) second time about 45min. fiber disks run around 4-500 bucks, and cant remember the cost of metal disks, think all parts were around 800. Takes about a half to 3/4 day for entire job, actually really easy to do by yourself. You can e-mail me at %23%23%dandrews@telapex.com%23%23 just drop all the %23's off and I will tell you how to do it. I have a d-20p-5 and have really enjoyed mine. As for your question above, I have a dump truck and all that, if you are just starting into this, better wait, what happens is you get a bunch of calls for dozer and dump truck work, then all of a sudden, you starve.....

I don't remember an adjustment for the clutches. There is an adjustment for the brakes accessed at the back of the machine. There is one for each side.

If they're like the Mitsubishi, look under seat.Steering is probably boosted.Best to get hold of service book for correct adjustment.Op manuals usually carry that info too.
