Do you know what model, or what type of engine in it? Austin-Western has been bought out and merged a number of times; not really sure where they fit now. I have some AW manuals.

Question for someone with books. We have an AW grader that we use regularly, but it seems the blade rotation hydraulics were damaged. We rebuilt the cams and rocker arms involved, but have had a heck of a time getting the timing right on th pistons. If you (or anyone) has a reference with the clearances, we'd really appreciate the help. Drop me an e-mail.

Thanks

You might want to check out the Historical Construction Equipment Association website www.hcea.net.

Austin-Western was an early pioneer for motor graders they introduced all hydraulic control, all wheel drive and all wheel steer. Should be able to find a "support group" for them somewhere.

I just got a 1965 super300 and am in the prosess of restoring it. it has a GM 4-71 w/Torque converter, Hydrolic stearing, Cab, scarifier, and 6 wheel drive. seems to be in good shape as the last guy that owned it only put about 10 hours on it in 5 years. Good thing because I don't think he owned a greese gun. I do need to rewire it as the wireing has been all cut up but that is simple. I was able to find a parts manual online and am waiting for a service manual off e-bay which should be here anyday. I would like to loacte a owner/operators manual and any leads would be helpfull. if there is enough interest I could scan the manuals onto cd's to share. I will be putting a progress report with pictures online in the near future. anyone can e-mail me for a link to that site if wanted.
