They require different decal kits when you paint them...hows that ???...also the cab is designed a little differently..the backhoe on the E has the "bent" boom as compared to the straight boom on the D. If it has an extendible hoe, that is different..a little better design than the D..If its 4x4 then the E doesn"t have limited slip like the D did.(in the front axle) I forget if it was an option or not..was standard on the 310SE..not a really noticeable difference....unless you really drove it into somewhere you shouldn"t have been in the first place..numerous other little changes...but both had open center hydraulic systems...what exactly were ya looking for???

Hi,I don't know the exact changes. There could only be one year difference in them. They could have change only slightly or they could have did a major change.I have a 310B and it is a 85 model they went with the 310C in 86 so even though there is only one year difference the cab looks totally different the B is square with flat glass and the C has a rounded cab with contoured glass. As far as the rest of the machine there is not much difference.

Is anyone else tired of responses that don't have a clue? The question was about the diferences between a "D" and an "E". A "C" helps about a ZERO. "A year apart" , Wow that helps. "They could have change only slightly or they could have did a major change" . Wow, that helps even more. Guessing about what might be different wastes folks time. If you do not know, please don't answer.

Jeez.....

Well Hi there Jim,did you have any information on the difference of a "D" and "E"? It didn't look like you listed any.So why didn't you take your own advice and just not post anything? How can you say that my post didn't have any usefull info? for all we know Shatski might not know a thing about a JD 310 and was just wondering why there is a different letter designation for them,if that were the case I think I would have given some pertinant information regardless of how simple it might have been.At least my post did have some information regardless of how simple or uninportant it might seem.Looks to me that your post had not one bit of usefull info,so take your own advice.
