pain in the a$$ remove hood, radiator muffler air cleaner, then try to pull pump.drain hydralic tank, then go to pull pump someone when installing a new pump stripped the bolts so they made a round backing plate with new 1/2" holes to hold pump in.ok it works but you cant loosen the pump bolts at the crank.they had the backing plate tacked in 3 places so i got the die grinder out and cut the welds.off with the pump.why not just drill and retap holes to 9/16".also is there a front motor mount bolt or pin?when i was prying the pump it would pry up.if its a broken bolt ill have to drop pan to get to.

Stressfree,
My belt is shot too. When it fails, I thought about trying one of the adjustable link style belts. My pump mount appears to have some of the same "modifications" that you mentioned. I put one on a tractor at work about 1 year ago and it works fine. A little late for you, but do you or anyone else have any experience with them?

Thanks,
David in SC

not realy those belts are spare tires only.they dont hold up on something that spins that fast.its better to do it right.atleast now i could tell you how to do it.also the bolts are out of the bottom of my radiador and possibly my front motor mount.

David,
I replaced 2 on my friend's HD5 with 2 new ones, and I thought they were really great. On it, you would have to drop the grill, radiator, and possibly the hydraulic pump to put on regular V-belts, but the linked belts went right on and worked like a champ. I'm not sure of the age of the ones we replaced, but they were definitely not new! I would recommend them for just about any V-belt application that requires a lot of disassembly to install. Happy Holidays!
