I'm new to this discussion site and am looking for info on a 933 pony start loader. The son said they bought it in early 60's, and the pony doesn't start, but tractor will run if pulled.
Was wondering what the weight, HP, value, and other helpful opinions would be on this machine.

Hi John,

Welcome aboard. My 933F is electric start, about 16k lbs, no idea of the hp, but it has plenty. I think mine"s late 60"s. I paid $7500 several years ago for a clean good running tractor. Has given me a lot more than $7500 worth of work. I traded up from a smaller JD and could hardly believe the difference. I used to break the JD regularly, the 933 doesn"t, even when pushed to stall.

Buddy should be along soon and will have better answers for you. He"s a Va mechanic who owns one (electric). I happily know nothing about pony motors.

Hi John, See you have a 933 Cat , good machine ! The pony engine , is it locked up? Or will it just not start when trying to start? The starting engine (pony) has a 2 3/4"x3" bore and stroke. 2 cylinder (gas) engine with 10hp at 3000rpm. The diesel is a D311 4 cylinder engine with 4"x5" bore and stroke. What series machine do you have? What is the serial number? I can give more information with those numbers. Hope I have helped you some .
