I have been watching ebay and looking for a used skid steer. The going price seems to be from 2000-3000. Can these machines still dig dirt. or will they get bogged down and die. Does anyone have an older one that can tell me if there something to have around or not. Just going to do landscapeing, push snow, load dirt and all the other things that I use my Front end loader for now. Which is the better mfg? Thanks for your time

I think some of the older skid steeres are a good buy. If you decide to bid on Ebay look at the sellers feedback. There are some who sell many machines and have great feed back. Also there are some real low hr machines out there.

You have to be careful, some have been well maintained and are good buys, some have been "rode hard and put away wet". It's tough if you are buying sight unseen, because the kinds of things you look for, oil leaks, bushing wear, smoky motors, are usually not in the auction.

I have an ancient Bobcat 610 back from the days when they were painted yellow. Got it used for $1000 and converted it from LP to gasoline. (Previous owner never got it started and I had to winch it out of his yard and onto a trailer with a bee's nest inside. That's why so cheap. Easily worth 3500 today. Fabulous machine. Parts readily available and I use it for all kinds of things. Have a dirt bucket, snow bucket and home made forks. Can do all the things you mention. I maintain it well and it pays off.

I have a extra M600 bobcat that needs some TLC I'd sell for $1500. It runs

Where are you located and how can I get hold of you. I might know someone who would be interested.
