You should have either a "7A" or a "7S" model blade, hard to tell from your description. The "A" type is a manually angled type blade, the blade is balanced on a trunion in the center of the "C-Frame" and has removable pins along the push arms on either side, pull the pins and angle to either side, best suited for grading and pushing off fill. The "S" type is a straight blade, both the "A" & "S" allows the pitch of the blade to be adjusted. This means you can adjust the cutting edge angle to be agressive or relaxed in a manner of speaking. In basic terms it's the angle of which it engages the ground, the brace tilts the top of the blade forward increasing the bite of the blade or lets you tilt it back if you want less of a bite, all depending on the soil conditions you are working in. Cat did print manual for just the blade, I have one for the "A" blade for my D7, which I was fortunate to find on e-bay, used to see these often, click on the link below, or you can try Midland Press, for a licensed reproduction which is good print quality, copy paste the following into the browser: Link
