Does anyone out there know whether all the internal engine parts of a JD 1010 gas engine are the same as for the JD 2010 gas engine? Also, will the head from a 1010 fit the 2010?

Thanks,
tncrawler

I believe the heads are the same (as long as they are both gas engines). But the blocks, sleeve decks, and pistons are different. The 1010 diesel block and sleeve deck is the same as the 2010 gas. 1010 and 2010 gas engines are basically the same execept for the bore. Generally speaking though, there is a difference in some engine parts for all 1010s and 2010s at a certain serial # break (before or after serial #31,000).

2010 deck and pistons are different, may be some other differences as well, can"t think of them off the top of my head. JDEMARIS can probably tell you without looking it up.

1010 and 2010 bore is different, diesel has 5 main brgs, gas has three, I think heads are the same. Also pistons for non/sleeve deck engines are different than pistons for sleeve deck engines.I have a used head and crank for gas engine for sale.
