i noticed that the c clip or lock ring inside on the rack pump rod is missing allowing the rack to go forward past the fuel the stop marks i was wondering if this would cause acessive fuel to enter the chambers then when the govenor takes control and pulls the shaft back causes too much combustion thus blowing appart the chambers does anyone know if this would cause this too happen

Wow Ken! you could have a runnaway if the rack gets away on you. Better get the governor repaired, making sure all parts are there and in the right place, put in a new governor spring too. Then you should take all the pumping elements/Barrels and Plungers out(keep them together and clean)and check and adjust the timing. Bad timing will break Pre Cups. This is and 8 or 9U tractor isn't it?
