I have a td-20 cable blade. It doesn't have hydralic down pressure on blade so it doesn't bite into hard groud very well. The blade is allmost straight up and down but is welded in that position. would it make a big differance if I went to the trouble of grinding the welds off and reposition the blade verticle or slightly forward of verticle on how well in digs into the ground?

Can you tilt your blade? If you tilt one corner down real good I'll bet it will dig.

Newer machines have variable pitch adjustment on the blade. Tilting the blade back tends to carry more material on the face and allows it to "dig" deeper...tilting towards the forward position supposedly makes for better grading...

Thanks for the reply. I only use this on the farm so I'm no expert but I'm hopeing to get some advice from those of you who are. I'm told that if you have the blade back it rides on top of the ground and the cutting edge doesen't dig in.
