I bought a TD-6 about 5 months ago . It needed final drive work on the right side. The machine has a general purpose bucket and a Cab with a counter weight in the rear. The man who transported it for me weighed it at a set of scales at the beginning of the trip. There was also a stripped rear end from another unit because I need the castings for repairs. The total weight was 17,300 lbs. I have not had it long enough to comment on weaknesses. I do love the machine and enjoy using it here on the farm.

Brian ----- ---I have a TD6 highlift and it weighs slightly over 5 tons. Mine is a 1960 with the start on gasoline and switch to diesel. You probably have a 6 cylinder diesel that starts with the aid of glow plugs. The old start on gasoline and switch to diesel were good, but had head problems. Normal wear and tear items on the undercarriage will occur. The only other item might be teh steering clutches. I think tehy were a paper and a little problem prone.

Its probably 10,000lbs plus. Some of them had head problems, I.E. the heads would crack if not shut down right/ or got hot.
