Small Dozer Model????

We are going to look at a small AC dozer,, guy says it old, 20-30's vintage, no starter other then crank start, but it is supposed to be a small dozer that can be hauled on a car trailer,, any ideas on model???Thanks....Jim

Its not a M,,we have a M and thats not a lil crawler,, this guy is smaller built.. I havent seen it yet..Dad went and looked today,, maybe its a monarch...Jim

They all say it can be "put on a car trailer"

The average car trailer is rated for around 5,000 lbs TOTAL, the trailers usually weigh 1,500 lbs on average, so that leaves you with about 3,500 lbs for the load. Not much, and certainly not enough for your average crawler.

You put a crawler on a car trailer, odds are you'll bend the ramps loading it, the frame, and the axles. I wouldn't recommend it.

I'd suggest looking for the small placcard that usually has the vin, serial, and model numbers on it...

just a suggestion.

Jim,
The smallest model I found in the Nabraska Tests was the "M" weighing in at a tad under 3 tons (6620 on test 216) or a tad over (6855 on 239). I would not say this was a "car trailer" sort of load!
I don"t have any AC books so others out there will perhaps throw more light on the subject, but hope this helps.
