You guys are sounding like a couple of old ladies. Geez. First of all - MUD - you posted several times asking me to email you - but you failed to provide your email address in the older posts. I'm not a mind-reader. Go back and look at your posts on Jan. 11 and Jan. 12. So, with no address I stopped paying attention. On Jan. 13, your name MUD was highlighted as if it was linked to an email address - but it comes up as "hidden." So later, in one of your posts, that looks the same, your address is finally linked and unhidden - and I was supposed to notice? Here is my email address - hopefully in plain view. jdemaris@capital.net As to the Case 580CK, it was, and is for sale. It was listed twice on the classifed on this website. I've answered questions about it over and over - sometimes the same questions to the same people every couple of months. If I had a dollar for every person that "was coming to look at it", I'd already have more money that it's worth. So I don't get too excited when someone says they're interested. At this point, I don't care if it sells or not - but again, for now it IS for sale - $2000 - as is, where is. If I get around to putting it together, then it won't be for sale. I already have two running backhoes, so I don't need it. And, I've got two dozers torn apart that I'd rather work on this winter instead of the 580CK. I've been offered $1200 for the 207D engine. If I'd been smart, I would've sold the engine and hauled the hoe to the auction yard. The following is an old, but accurate description of it. I'm in Otsego Co., central New York State - in-between Albany and Binghamton (50 miles either way) and 15 miles from Cooperstown.

Case 580CK diesel wheel loader backhoe. This machine, ser. # 8336306, was being
used daily until the engine blew a rod through the side of the block. Loader-hoe is, I
think, a model #33. Has power steering and hydraulic reverser. The blown engine is a
G188 diesel and is probably repairable, but I’m not sure it’s worth the bother. I’ve seen a
few of these engines with the block patched in the same spot. Please note that the
machine is beat. Loose bushings and pins, crappy welds here and there, steering spindles are
loose. Tires mostly bald. No cab. I pulled the covers off the differential and transmission just to inspect the inside
and all looks clean with no wear evident. Oil is clear, no metal filings or water, etc. Hydraulic pump and coupler look good. The radiator looks banged up but I sent it to
shop and had it flushed and checked for leaks, and it’s fine. I took the hoe and front
bucket off the machine so I could move the machine into my shop - but it is all part of the
deal. That was a few years ago, and it still sits there taking up space with the old engine
ready to come out with about a half hour’s work. Please note, it will take a little work to
get this thing out of my shop and onto a trailer or truck, but I’ve got some heavy
equipment around to do it. I also have a good engine that I haven't found time to put in. It's a little
larger in cubic inches, being a 207D but will bolt in as a replacement. 188D and 207D are exactly the same size externally. It is: Model 207D, serial #4307581 . I bought the engine off the estate of a friend that died 4-5 years ago. He got the engine from a military base down south and was getting ready to use it in something when he died. It came from a 580CK military forklift and is supposed to have low hours on it. It's been in my shop since I bought it. It NOW has a tight spot in it when you turn the flywheel half way around. Maybe a rusted rocker-arm? It turned over fine when I first put it in storage four years ago. Anybody who's serious about buying the whole mess is free to inspect it - pull the head, oil pan, etc. Note - I DO NOT WANT TO SELL JUST THE ENGINE. I've had many offers on it - but once I sell the engine, the rest of the hoe is usless to me - even more so than it is now. Anybody who want photos, I've got plenty I can send by email.

I read with interest another note which you wrote concerning converting a Deere rotary vane swing cylinder into a conventional 2 cylinder swing. I'm looking to do that conversion. Where these kits available through Deere? I called a couple of industrial dealers but they couldn't help me.

Thanks for any info you can give me.
