I have a 350b with the #93 BH. Everyone is right about the weight. The 350 is a little small to be lugging that much weight around much. And like the others said, it rides back on the rear sprockets. The swing cylinder doesn’t hold it in place too good and slowly seeps from side to side. As you are moving along, you have to keep reaching back and adjusting the bucket back to the center.
However, it will do some serious digging. The crawler keeps its footing.

Just about all the removable backhoes that JD ever made will fit your 350 brackets... but that doesn't mean it's a good idea. I've had several different hoes, and the 350 is a little light to be carrying around a "big" hoe like the model 9300... Anything hanging off the back of a 350 makes them pretty light in the front, even if it's a loader with a full bucket of dirt... the last 350C I had worked OK with a model 9550, though... it's a little smaller and has swing cylinders instead of that troublesome swing motor thing that JD used... I liked the 9550.

Yeh I"d agree, my 350A with a backhoe is really light on the front and wont go up steep hills easily without using the hoe to push ... but then it is really useful for pushing yourself out of places and once you have the feet down its great ...

I have a "68 JD350 dozer pre B. I also have a #93 BH with quik attach brackets. Mine was rebuilt with the loader hydraulic pump - higher capacity than dozer pump. Makes for a too fast dozer blade movement. The BH seat sits up about 7-8" in the air so you get really good sitelines. Mine also has the 36" cemetery bucket (cuts a straight wall) & digs 13-14". It seriously loads the rear of the machine causing it to ride on the rear sprockets. Being on hills requires focused concentration. The drawbar needs to come off to install the BH. Otherwise attaching is about a 2 min process. The BH feed hoses must be connected when BH is not attached or it will stall the engine. Weight is 2700 - 3000 lbs. I have the operators/parts/service manuals if you need more details.

The others tips are right on.

Thanks guys....I'm aware of the whole stability & wear issues.I'm lucky that I'm on flat ground here,& I'll probably only use the hoe a coupla times per year. The machine is in fairly ordinary condition,so I'm not too fussy with it....it can be my steel slave for days when I don't feel like wrestling heavy stuff. Thanks again.
