D4 steering clutches

what is the removal order for old D4 steering clutches these ones are frozen and wont disengauge thay are dry type i presume tracks,final drives, then clutches havent workd on a cat before only inter and fowler thanks old time

Oldtime, Don't touch those tracks and final drives. The clutches come out the top along with the bevel gear and cross shaft as a unit. You should probably have a servicemans manual for this undertaking but if you don't I can try to email you the required section. My scanner is out for repair so it may be a few days. Regards Lew

I too am having trouble with the steering clutches on my D4. I am getting no response when I pull back on either lever and apply the break.
The dozer has been idle for a year or more. Any help?
