What experiances has any one had with any of the Japanese dozers that have been imported. I mean the ones with all of the decal instructions in Japanese. IE: Komotsu, Hitachi,Furawka, and some others that do not come to mind at this time.

Many of the Hitachi dozers were built in Dubuque and were JD's painted orange with different decals. Hitachi built their own back in 1968 or so. they now have a marketing agreement with Deere, Hitachi supplies the excavators and Deere supplies some dozers and wheel loaders.

They're a great deal as long as you don't have a dealer that goes by the book about " grey market machines ". Some won't sell you parts to repair them....

I have had good luck with my Furukawa. I have put over 1,300 hrs on it the only trouble was a front idler shaft, I didn`t catch it in time to start greasing it and lost the whole works. Good on fuel , I love the swamp pads. Only thing I miss is the reverser the 350 jd had, but I don`t miss the down time. Tony
