In their day they were a fine backhoe.A 3 cylinder backhoe is a little weak when loading with front loader. Backhoe works fine A 310-A has a 4 cylinder engine. A little more power goes a long way..You might find that an older 310 will have some more leaks than other machines, because of a closed center hydraulic system. This system carries 2200 to 2500 lbs. of standby presure at all times when not using hydraulics. Fords , Case used open center hydraulics, meaning that oil is being circulated all the time without building pressure until you pull a lever. Good Luck with your choice..
