After 1944 when Oliver got involved and Cleaveland Tractor Co. baled out, subtle changes evolved, e.g. bigger engine, different front idler wheels, slight changes in final drives, engine mounting changes, optional aux. transmission with Ford Model A 3 speed, driveshaft change, etc. Some late HGs are mechanically identical to early OC3s. Front idlers are the nicest change, tracks much less likey to come off. And, the optional aux. trans. makes its a different machine.
