I'm about to replace pins and bushings on my TD7.

Whats the best way to get the old bushings out.

Grind away the welds? I also have a plasma cutter.

Well forgive me the only the only thing I, saw was pins and bushing ,now that I,know which pin and bushing that is new a game . The bushing like you, say it is might need the plasma ,blue tip wrench and air chisel to work on the bushing.

A torch (oxyacetelene), also known as the hot wrench.

The bushings look like they are welded in because there is normally a gusset welded around the area. The bushings should just press right out with a bushing guide(big punch) and a 4 lb hammer. If you can't see the outline of the bushing, then your unit may have been modified already by someone that didn't want to replace bushings anymore and just fabricated a larger pin. The gusset should be about a 1/2"-3/4" out from the pin. The bushing should be about a 1/4" thick, give or take. Hope this helps.

I,am like MARLOWE and HALF TRACK you need a new or a good set of used track chains . When you find welded pins and bushings the pins were coming out of the links when the mechine tracks were moveing.

If in fact they are welded, you need a new set of rails. All you list is welded bushings, what about pins? If welded they are loose in the bore.
Well, one thing for sure & that is, if all is loose all you need is a hammer & no press. HT

Apparently I'm not using the correct terminology.

I'm talking about the pins and bushings on the front blade.

These are welded in.

Hi Jeff Sounds like you might have some fun on your hands. You probably have two options if the bushings are welded in,both involve fixing the bores. Are they the pins in the center of the blade?First there is the weld & rebore, probably the best for this location or if it only does lighter work you could try Belzona, which is a real
tough epoxy based buildup material,it has a very high compressive strength & was used by the army.
I would take the blade& push frame to a machine shop & get them to repair the bores for any hard or rock work if thats what you do.Just cut the bushings out with the plasma cutter or a torch ,
be careful not to nick the bores too much. If you
decide on the second method E-mail me & I can help
you locate some Belzona .Try & be more specific
when you ask a question .Good Luck! Russ Cadotte
