Hi...Does anyone know other places than this to contact owners of New Holland Skid Steers? I would like to talk with other owners because I am not experienced with these but I have a mechanical background. I only got one contact on this site named Jack and he was helpful but he owns a different model. I am not very computer literate and don't know how to find message boards like this or whatever....

I too have a LS-150 and just love the thing. I use it more than my tractors. I've been splitting a lot of wood with mine. One thing I've noticed is that it will start better when it's cold than in July. This is probably the best spot to get info on skid steers of any kind. I saw your previous post and can also tell you that tilting the cab is in the owners manual in detail. I got a manual with mine and don't know what the price is.

By the way, how do you split wood, what type splitter do you have. I use a BushHog spliter behind my diesel JD 1070 tractor and it works great. It uses almost no fuel either. I can split for 3 hours and the gage does not even move! The Skid Steer uses almost a gallon per hour it seems when I use it. I think driving all the pumps is very inefficient.

The wood splitter that I've got is an old 3 pt. hitch one. What I did was build a new mounting plate for the skid loader and turned the splitter upside down and welded it on. You can move the skidsteer around to position it onto the piece of wood, pick it up, move it to the wood pile and split it there. The beauty part is you never have to touch the wood. I can split all day and never break a sweat. I don't have e-mail on this computer but can send you some pictures of the splitter in action and the size of some of the chunks it will split. One other thing I like it for is stacking brush. You can cut the branchs about 30 feet long, carry them to the brush pile and dump them on the pile. Saves a lot of hand work.

Thanks, I get the picture, pretty clever. I have never seen one mounted upside down! I guess you can operate the hydraulic controls from the seat too.

Yes, I run the controls sitting in the seat. I do have some pictures at work and can send them to you. If you have a high speed internet connection I will send you all 4. If you don't I'll just send you the one that shows it the best. If I send all four it will take quit a while to download.

I have a dial up connection so don't overload it with all 4 photos. If you have photo imaging software, you can reduce the file size of the photos so they are easy to send. You can change the resolution to 100 or less and also the size of the photo to around 5 or 6 inches. My software came with my camera and allows me to change these easily. There is no need for greater resolution or size for computer screen viewing since computer screens only have resolution of 70 something. Your higher resolutions and size is only needed if you want to print photos in large print sizes. My coolant leak is where the drain valve screws into the block and is nearly impossible to get to without tilting the cab and even then would be difficult. I am thinking of adding stop leak or just continually refilling the radiator. The leak is very small and only leaks with changes in the weather during the night when it gets cold. It does not leak when running. Just a few drops on cold mornings. Strange! My email is attached.

HI..Good to hear of a fellow owner of an LS-150. I like mine also and it only has 250 hrs on it. I am losing a small amount of coolant and cannot find a leak point yet. I removed the belly pan and rear panels and will start it up and try to pin point it. It looks like you have to tilt the cab to do almost anything! Even the battery looks like it would be a bear to remove. I suspect you have the operators manual and I have that one too. The service manual is in 4 parts and costs over $200. I just called today. The dealer cost is $185 and the list price is $238. No word yet on the tilting tool. Only other problem I had was a wheel stud that unloosened and broke off. I would like to have your email address so as to keep in touch with a fellow owner in case I have other problems. I am uniontractor@earthlink.net and am 30 miles west of StLouis. I would like to know of any of your problems and other tips.
