one thing i can tell you is i use a lot of after market parts except for seal kit for rams after market just never seem to fit quite right. i bought a spanner wrench from case industeral dealer for 80.00us good heavy wrench saved 80bucks worth of hide and fingers.

You're just having all the fun with the 450! I saw your subject line and thought "wait! my 450 needs that too"!

I've been thinking about having a local hydraulic service center rebuild the cylinders for me. Gonna stop by there and see what they charge. I'm also not positive that the sinking problem is not in the control (spool) valve. Could be a combination of both.

Still involved with the engine rebuild at the moment. Got the 1000lb front weight/guard off and got the bolts out of the oil pan, but the pan is stuck tight. Already gettin tired of working underneath the machine and getting crud in my eyes everytime I move around.

I've seen the cylinder wrench you talk about on eBay many times. Been tempted to get one for the heck of it.

Good luck with your cylinders and let me know how it goes. Looks like I'm next in line for the same thing....

Stressfree,

Try this link.

Link
If that does not work, go to ebay home page and type in Case spanner wrench.

Ends soon, very soon.

Not the same company I was thinking about.

Stressfree,
If you look around on ebay, there is usually one for sale. Some company makes them (I guess) and sells them specifically for Case machines. I do not know how much they usually bring, and if that is good or not. I think it is the same company that also makes other Case aftermarket parts like track adjusters, adjuster rods, etc. I bought an adjuster rod from them last year. As info. I have a very reasonable Case Industrial dealer nearby. I took all of my cylinders to him and the average cost to rebuild was under $30 each. And if you get them in early you get them back around lunch. To me that was better than trying to do myself as I do not have a big vise or spanner wrench.

Good luck whichever route you take.
