Mark, you need Cat TDTO4 or equivilent for all cat powershift transmissions, 30 would be good this time of year. Also change the steering clutch and bevelgear oil too and use that in there. Always use TDTO4 where you have a clutch. CAT used to use the same oil everywhere series 3, but oils have changed over the years. Engine life has douled with new oils but that oil is not good for clutches. Use sae 50 in the final drives If this tractor is new to you make sure the engine mounting bolts are tight and the rear mounts not broken. If the engine gets loose or out of alignment with the torque input it will rip the 4 drive biscuits out of it fast, in a week in severe cases.

Mark, it's more like ATF than engine oil. Multi grade 10W30 etc has additives that are not good for your trans. You will likely only have to change it once a year if that so get the right oil and you will save on the repairs down the road. The right oil is likely not any more expensive anyway. You can use good diesel engine oil in the hyd tank too and it's better for the pump.
