When moving with the reverser ahead, if you step on the clutch, the crawler keeps going. You have to put the reverser in neutral to stop. Worn out clutch? Can it be adjusted? Crawler has about 4,000 hrs. on it. Thanks!

Sounds as if either the lever on the side of reverser control valve came loose for one reason or another.. Or the lever inside the control valve where it contacts the clutch valve is worn or the pin on the valve spool came out.The control valve can be removed without disassembly of machine, But it's a bugger. one other cause could be the forward clutch pack has warped discs from heat. can be checked by changing direction of reverser with gear transmission in neutral. If the engine pulls down a lot more in reverse than forward, this tells me that forward is still partially applied from friction of discs in forward clutch pack..

Check you transmission fluid level. I am green to the crawler world, but I had a similar problem, and my fluid levels were down about 3 quarts. I don"t know how much it holds but once the levels were brought back up, it functioned correctly again.
